About our sustainable practice

At RizAndMicaMake we're constantly pursuing more and more sustainable methods and techniques in our work, we believe the state of our biosphere is one of the most, if not most, pressing issues of our time.

We use only reclaimed or FSC certified wood in our products and repurpose or resell our waste from manufacturing processes.

We're looking to use even more post-consumer products like recycled plant fiber materials and sheets made from yoghurt lids, or pulped cardboards as we grow.

Some Examples of Our Sustainability:

-We've partnered with tree-nation to plant a tree for each and every item purchased over the minimum value.

-We've also designed and built our own cyclone dust separator in the workshop so we can dust-extract our woodshavings in order to sell on.

-We sell our offcuts and low grade boards in order to minimise waste and have as circular a manufacturing process as possible

-All our reclaimed timber is locally sourced and given a new life with us

-We're currently looking into the feasibility of growing our own mushrooms using our sawdust as a substrate and potentially creating biochar from our offcuts.

We've recently partnered with a variety of organisations to allow our customers to donate to good causes after the checkout process. We seek out groups that we think are doing brilliant work and that mean a lot to us.

There is no planet B, let's look after this world!
