We work exclusively with locally sourced, secondhand timber. This not only supports local suppliers and reduces transportation emissions, but also helps divert high-quality materials from landfills.
Moisture control is key to stability and longevity. That’s why we dry every piece of timber in our hand-built kilns. Carefully monitored and tailored to the unique nature of each board, this process ensures the ideal moisture balance for durability.
Once dried, the timber is machined in-house, shaped and sanded by our small team of skilled artisan builders. Every panel is hand-finished with care, allowing the grain and texture of the reclaimed wood to shine through. We don’t believe in shortcuts — only in craftsmanship that lasts.
While our surfaces are beautiful, what’s underneath counts too. Each panel is reinforced with strong, thoughtfully placed braces on the underside. We bond every join with an ultra-tough, industrial-grade resin that keeps everything locked in and looking great for years to come.
After crafting our panels from reclaimed timber, we take one final — and vital — step to bring out the wood’s full character: the finish. This is where the grain deepens, the tones come alive, and the surface is sealed with a satin-smooth touch that’s made to last.
Before any finish touches the wood, each panel is meticulously hand-sanded in multiple stages. This isn’t just about smoothness — it’s about preparing the surface to absorb the oil evenly and beautifully, enhancing the natural features of the timber without masking its soul.
We use premium, hardwax oil from Fiddes, chosen for its exceptional durability, natural composition, and stunning finish. It’s vegan, low-VOC, and safe for use in homes — even around kids and pets. The oil soaks into the grain, hardening within the wood rather than sitting on top, which means it doesn’t peel or flake over time.
To make it uniquely ours — and yours — we mix our own blend of high-quality pigments directly into the Fiddes matt oil. The result? A range of rich, earthy tones that elevate the character of each piece while keeping a natural, understated look and feel. Every blend is tested for consistency and designed to highlight the nuances in reclaimed wood.
The final effect is a soft, tactile sheen that feels as good as it looks. Not too glossy, not too flat — just the perfect balance of depth, tone, and touch.
